My main reason to photograph during golden hour is to capture the soft, dreamy skies Arizona has to offer. As a maternity Flagstaff portrait photographer specializing in maternity & babies first year sessions, I soak up every minute of the golden sunlight.

This expecting mom had envisioned a dreamy snowy maternity session in Flagstaff, but due to an unusually dry winter, we had to adapt our plans. Instead of a blanket of snow, we found ourselves surrounded by the stunning backdrop of the snowcapped peaks on Mount Humphreys. As a maternity Flagstaff portrait photographer, I always have a back up location so the unexpected setting provided a unique perspective that was just as breathtaking.

As our session progressed, we were delighted by the dramatic, cloudy sunset sky that painted the landscape with vibrant hues of blue and orange. It was as if nature itself was celebrating this special milestone in her life. The sun began to stream through the aspens at Aspen Corner, creating a magical, golden glow that contrasted beautifully with her deep red maternity gown, which she had creatively sourced from Amazon.
