Arizona style guide for a stress-free photo session experience. The dos and don’ts of what to wear for your next portrait session!

Hats, jewelry, suspenders, knee high socks, cardigan, vests and flower crowns adds layers.

2-3 colors in the same palette with a sprinkle of neutrals throughout. My favorite tones are olives, charcoal, rust, mocha, mauve, plum & all shades of creams: Avoid White & Choose Cream instead!

Mix florals & stripes or a chunky plaid with solids. Textures such as velvet, silk, lace, corduroy adds visual interest.

Avoid blue denim and go for khaki, burgundy, grey or olive to bring out the earth tone look.

Letβs create a dreamy look with outfits that flow, such as maxi dresses or skirts. Ruffles and a side slit shows off your feminine silhouette. If you want a more casual look, wide-leg pants or short dresses are a perfect option.

A dress with a slit & train gives you a feminine, dreamy feel! Add an off the shoulder sleeve, lace and sheer for the sun to shine through. Cream is always a soft choice! These cream dresses are by Joyfolie.

Let me know what type of style you love such as a wrap maxi dress or off the shoulder top with a matching skirt and as your Flagstaff family photographer I will send you options that I believe will look amazing on you!

Adding knee highs is a sweet touch! Don’t forget the DIAPER COVER on toddlers so we can play without worrying about adjusting dresses! I recommend not having bra straps show. Women if you haven’t tried Cakesbody, I highly recommend them for a natural look! Incorporating a lace duster brings a dreamy look to your session, and we can play with laying it off your shoulders.

Soft, muted prints photograph amazing. Mixing these prints with other family members who are wearing solids works perfectly! Purple maxi dress by Free People.

I have many different options of floral crowns I can provide at your session, complimentary for your little girl made by BohoHaloCo! For adult flower crowns, the client above bought hers at Buckaroo Flower Co. Feel free to change into another favorite outfit at your session if you would like!
My go-to outfit for men is colored pants (charcoal, burnt orange, chocolate, olive) a Henley or crew neck top. Bolo ties are perfect for the Southwest backdrop. Add tan lace-up boots to finish the look! Layer a vest, suede or corduroy jacket for added interest! Please avoid shorts and athletic shoes.

Black is always a timeless choice when planning outfits. Mixing it with bronze, camel, deep greens or plums makes for a bold statement! Dresses with slits add movement to your outfit!
